Self assessment

The Safer Communities Self Assessment Summary gives a summary on Safer Derbyshire and the progress, actions and outcomes of work managed through the county council's community safety unit and it's partners.

The first section of the self assessment covers items such as percentage reduction in crime for Derbyshire, consultations, how we are performing with projects in comparison to police data and other survey results.

The second section covers the progress on projects within the Safer Derbyshire Team, and how these projects have contributed to reducing crime and the fear of crime. It contains information about the Local Criminal Justice Board, community safety training, alcohol harm reduction, and sexual violence advisors. Outcomes of projects that have been completed are covered to show how we have performed in relation to the number of people that have benefited, or a percentage reduction in a particular crime.

How can we learn from this?

This report identifies any gaps that are currently showing as a result of the work we have done, and gives opportunity to fill the gaps through intervention or further work on the project. An example of this is that we need a map of care pathways of victims of domestic violence in order to improve our knowledge and awareness of those involved in providing support services.  There is a group dedicated to this gap and a group to give direction on any ways in which this gap can be overcome.
