Eckington

The Eckington Clean Up in September 2007 included bulk waste clearance, property frontage renovation and fence repairs, target hardening, new street furniture and flower beds and a general clean up of the estate.

Holmewood

July 2007 saw the start of the Holmewood Clean Up (pictured) with over seven tonnes of waste, one tonne of scrap and twenty two fridges removed. A crime reduction initiative including the provision of property marking kits to ninety homes accompanied the Clean Up. New planters and signs will also be installed.

Youth diversionary activities have complemented the project, with the Youth Service and Parish Council currently considering the provision of a netball pitch and a youth shelter at the rear of the Community Centre.

The Police Business Crime Team are engaged with local businesses, with improvements to shop fronts and re-surfacing works also planned.

Danesmoor

A similar Clean Up took place in Danesmoor in April 2007 with bulky waste removed. A total of over twenty five tonnes of waste and three tonnes of scrap were collected. Improvements to frontages and fencing were completed in July, with a crime reduction initiative similar to the Holmewood Clean Up also occurring.
