Bolsover Community Safety Partnership (CSP) was formed as a result of the requirements of the Crime and Disorder Act, 1998 and is a partnership of many agencies and organisations working together in the area to tackle crime and disorder.
The CSP is led by Bolsover District Council, the Police and the county council. Other partners include Derbyshire Probation Service, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Primary Care Trust (PCT) and voluntary and community organisations.
Our main aim is to work in partnership with other authorities and the community to reduce crime and the fear of crime across the district of Bolsover. We are required to carry out an assessment every three years to identify the extent of problems within communities and to develop strategies to deal effectively with these problems. From these assessments we know that crime and the fear of crime is a high priority for our communities and the CSP is working to a three year community safety strategy to tackle this. This then forms the Partnership Plan, which is refreshed annually to ensure targets and actions plans are met.
Much of our work is in liaison with Community Safety Local Action Groups, Parish Councils, Tenants and Residents Groups and Neighbourhood Partnerships. We also work as a theme group for crime and community safety within Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).
