Chesterfield CSP - Community Safety Strategy

Introduction to the Community Safety Strategy

The Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership has picked out the following priorities to concentrate on in 2005-2008:

  • Burglary and Theft
  • Violent Crime
  • Anti-social behaviour

We have set targets for each one and will measure our progress against them. The targets are:

  • To reduce domestic burglaries by 32%
  • To reduce theft of vehicles by 15% and theft from a vehicle by 25%
  • To reduce criminal damage by 20%
  • To reduce perception of anti-social behaviour
  • To reduce the number of secondary fires by 5%
  • To reduce common assault by 6%
  • To reduce wounding by 9%

These targets are very challenging but we feel that by working together, the Partnership will be able to deliver the reductions, helping us to make Chesterfield a safer place to live, work, visit and invest in.
