To complement this, youth diversionary activity started under the banner of Street Sports with between twenty and fifty young people attending each session. The Probation Service has been involved with some of the landscaping on the parks.

Matlock Town Centre

Members of the public have been provided with ‘Graffiti Kits’ for the removal of low level graffiti, providing some local ownership of the problem. Staff from Derbyshire County Council and the Police also assisted in graffiti removal.

Wirksworth

Volunteers cleaned up the skate park and surrounding area on 6th September 2007 with the help of Police Community Support Officers and the Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Team.

Matlock Hurst Farm

A working group was formed consisting of representatives from various agencies including local councils, the Safer Communities through Sport project, Hurst Farm Community Association, and Dales Housing to share ideas of what each agency could do to improve the area.
