Do you have adequate levels of home security? If the answer is no or not sure and you live in North East Derbyshire, then you may need to take advantage of our Target Hardening scheme.

The North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership identifies hotspot areas within the district that are most at risk from crime. Households in these areas are surveyed by Police and Partnership staff. If the level of security needs upgrading, we will offer to send in a handyman to carry out the work at no cost to the householder.

Households from outside the hotspot areas may also be referred to the scheme by the Police, other agencies or by the householder themselves.

Hundreds of properties have been surveyed and upgraded since 2003, resulting in a significant reduction in domestic burglary figures.

The North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership aims to continue these schemes and improve on our success. We are committed to drive down crime in our district and make it one of the safest places in the country to live.
