North East Derbyshire CSP - Target Hardening Scheme

Do you have adequate levels of home security? If the answer is no or not sure and you live in North Derbyshire, then you can take advantage of our target hardening scheme.

The North East Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership identifies hotspot areas within the district that are most at risk from crime. Households in these areas are surveyed by police and partnership staff. If the level of security needs upgrading, we will offer to send in a handyman to carry out the work at no cost to the householder.

Households from outside the hotspot areas may also be referred to the scheme by the police, other agencies or by the householder themselves.

Hundreds of properties have been surveyed and upgraded since 2003, resulting in a significant reduction in domestic burglary figures.

This target hardening scheme is carried out in partnership with the Derbyshire Handyvan Network, available Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm.  Please see the leaflet in the 'related documents' section for more information.
