Ozbox comes to Brimington
Young people in Brimington are being given the chance to try their hand at boxing during a series of free sessions.
The Ozbox sessions will be held Brimington Community Centre in High Street every Monday between 6pm and 8pm from Monday January 28 until Monday February 18.
The Ozbox scheme is run voluntarily by off-duty police officers, with the aim of encouraging young people into boxing based fitness sessions.
The classes also aim to reduce the amount of nuisance behaviour in the area, by giving young people something to do and taking them off the streets.
The sessions, which are run by fully trained coaches, include circuit training and basic boxing skills.
Anyone between the ages of nine and 18 can join the free sessions as long as they have a signed consent form from a parent or guardian.
PCSO Sue Cooke of the Brimington Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "This is open to all young people in the area, whether they have boxing experience or not. It is a fun way to get fit and learn new skills.
"Young people can come to all four sessions, or just one.
"Anyone who comes along needs to wear a tracksuit or sports clothing and bring a bottle of water with them."
Anyone who would like a consent form for their child can call 07733 146532.
