Sally heads up safety team

A new Community Safety Officer (CSO) has been appointed to lead the team working to cut crime and fear of crime throughout Amber Valley.

Sally Price - Amber Valley CSO

Sally Price has taken up the role with Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership and says she is delighted to have the opportunity to bring her expertise to her home area.

Anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, violent crime and vehicle crime are key issues that 24-year-old Sally and her team are working to reduce.

She has already started work on an initiative to reduce domestic burglary and is steering a Christmas campaign designed to remind people about the potential consequences of losing control as a result of drinking alcohol.

Sally brings a wealth of experience to the Partnership, having worked as Hate Crime Coordinator with Derby Community Safety Partnership and Anti-Social Behaviour Coordinator with Nottinghamshire Police.

Commenting on her new job, Sally said: “I am delighted to be here. I understand the importance of tackling crime and disorder to the residents of Amber Valley, particularly because I live in the borough myself.

“I plan to devise and manage projects that will help to achieve the targets that the Partnership set in its Community Safety Strategy for 2005-2008.”

The other members of the Community Safety Partnership team, which is based at the Town Hall in Ripley, are Assistant CSO Vicki England, Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinator Graham Jarrett, Partnership Sergeant Julie Hay and Projects Officer Kevin Cassidy.

The Partnership was created as a result of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, under which the Police Force, County Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, the Police Authority and the Fire & Rescue Service have to work together to cut crime and disorder.
