Violent crime

Violent Crime is a priority for all of the local Community Safety Partnerships across Derbyshire. It is also a government priority.

All partnerships are addressing some aspect of violent crime. Domestic Violence is a priority for some, town centre alcohol related violence, hate crime and racist crime are priorities for other partnerships. Planned actions include improving services to victims of domestic violence, improving awareness and reporting of these crimes, increasing the safety of places where alcohol is consumed e.g. the Safer Pubs and Clubs Schemes’.

The Safer Pubs and Clubs scheme in north Derbyshire has recently been awarded a national Crime Concern award in recognition of the success of the scheme. Further information can be obtained from Derbyshire Police, B Division, Buxton Police Station 01298 72100.

Across Derbyshire the Domestic Abuse Reduction Project (DARP) covering Derbyshire Dales and High Peak has been supported by the Home Office and is now developing a Domestic Violence strategy.

The Derbyshire Forum on Domestic Abuse seeks to involve all the agencies working on Domestic Abuse issues.
