Young people

Young people are often perceived to be "offenders", committing lots of crime and being anti-social. The truth is that young people are often the victims of crime and also suffer the effects of others being anti-social.

All of the partnerships across Derbyshire recognise the importance of working with young people. By talking with and listening to young people, partnerships have set up new projects to provide even more things for young people to do. There are activities young people can get involved with in every area like:

  • Skate parks
  • Music projects
  • Sports activities

Derbyshire Youth Service offers young people aged 13 to 19 and young people in targeted groups aged 11 to 13 and 19 to 25 a wide range of social and educational activities and experiences.

You'll find hundreds of different activities on offer in a variety of locations around the county.

All this is delivered through

  • 42 Youth Centres
  • 36 locations in Community Buildings and Schools
  • 41 Detached / Outreach Projects
  • 6 District Mobile Youth Information Units
  • 4 County-wide Curriculum Vehicles
  • 3 Information, Advice and Guidance Centres
