We have run and funded several projects aimed at reducing crime and disorder in Amber Valley:

• We have helped to fund SPODA, a support service working across Derbyshire to help the family and friends of drug abusers.  (contact link to SPODA)

• We have supported the Sports Development outreach programme ‘Nightreach’. Nightreach engages young people in sports-based activities, diverting them away from offending behaviour and substance misuse.  The Partnership has supported this scheme for several years, and it has proved to be very successful and popular with the young people involved (contact details for Alfie)

• Homeguard alarms – we have purchased several Homeguard alarms, which we are distributing to elderly or vulnerable people across the Borough who are worried out being burgled.  If you think you may qualify for an alarm contact the Crime Reduction Officer at your local police station

• Christmas vehicle crime campaign – we have run a successful, high-profile vehicle crime awareness raising campaign over the Christmas period, warning motorists not to leave valuables in their car and to secure their vehicle.
