Citizenship Education Resources
Welcome to the Citizenship Education Resources within the Safer Derbyshire website.
This area is designed for teachers who wish to access resources that contribute to the teaching of 'legal and human rights and responsibilities, basic aspects of the criminal justice system and how they relate to young people.' All of this is set down within the statutory programme of study at Key Stage 3 (Ref KS3 1a). It also covers aspects of the Key Stage 4 programme, namely 1a and 1c. There are, no doubt, other areas that these resources cover, particularly in Key Stages 2 and 3 with the emphasis on delivering skills.
Use the menu on the left to take you to the education resources. You will also see that a number of parties within the criminal justice system have contributed to the site and offer contact names, time available to work with schools and resources that can either be downloaded from the site or ordered from the organisations themselves.
We hope that these resources can be used in discreet lessons, cross-curricular settings and theme days. We intend to keep these resources up-to-date and offer new areas as they are produced so please keep logging on!
Please contact me if you require further information and in the meantime, could I thank all the partners who have contributed to this site.
