Domestic Abuse is controlling behaviour that includes all kinds of physical, sexual and emotional abuse within all kinds of intimate relationships.

County Forum on Domestic Abuse

The Derbyshire County Forum on Domestic Abuse has agreed to develop these web pages as a resource directory for all services and forums in Derbyshire. Please click the link in the More Information section below for a copy of the proforma for your organisation, service or forum to complete for inclusion on the website. Help available

Services in Derbyshire are committed to achieve the widespread acceptance that domestic abuse is unacceptable and illegal. They work together through local partnerships and the County Forum to ensure support is given to adults and children experiencing domestic abuse and to try and ensure that appropriate treatment for perpetrators is readily available and accessible.

The help provided takes full account of the persons wishes (including confidentiality) and can include:

  • Providing support and protection to adult victims and their children including advice and information, support, legal protection, emergency re-housing and refuge
  • Bringing perpetrators to justice
  • Preventing violence

If you are worried about someone knowing which web sites you have visited, you can take several steps to increase your safety when using the internet. The Victim Support site provides a practical guide to safe website usage.

The only certain way to prevent anyone finding out which web pages you have been viewing is to use a computer they do not have access to; this could be at a local library, a friend's house, or an internet cafe.
