Medical Emergencies

Do not hesitate to call an ambulance if you suspect someone has overdosed.

The Ambulance Service treats all calls to overdoses as medical emergencies.

The Police will not be informed by the Ambulance Service, unless:

  • There is a death at the time within the care of the Ambulance Service
  • There is evidence of harm arising to children or other vulnerable persons
  • The ambulance crew is in fear of attack
