Derbyshire DAAT (Drug and Alcohol Action Team)

The Derbyshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) works to deliver the national drugs strategy at local level and in response to local need. The DAAT is a partnership of agencies with a responsibility to tackle drug and alcohol misuse.

Agencies involved include:

  • Derbyshire Constabulary
  • Derbyshire County PCT 
  • Derbyshire County Council
  • The National Probation Service - Derbyshire
  • Derbyshire Youth Offending Service
  • Government Office East Midlands (GOEM)  

The 2008-2018 Drugs Strategy aims to reduce the harm that drugs cause to society, communities, individuals and their families. 

The strategy has four strands:

  • Protecting communities through drug dupply, drug related crime and anti-social behaviour

  • Preventing harm to children, young people and families affected by drug misuse

  • Delivering new opportunities to drug treatment and social integration

  • Public information campaigns, communications and community engagement
