Becoming a student and living away from home will be a time of new challenges, some learning and hopefully a lot of enjoyment. Unfortunately, there are people who recognise that students can be quite a vulnerable group. You are now, more than before, responsible for your own safety and security. Each year some students suffer assaults, burglaries, theft or car crime.

Often these crimes could have been avoided if the victims had been more aware of the risks. There are ways to cut those risks significantly.
