Strategy and policy

The Derbyshire Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Strategy is the first under the new joint Derbyshire County and Derby City governance structure, focusing on both domestic abuse, sexual violence and the overlap between the two.

The aim of the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Strategy 2018 to 2021 (attached to this page) is to provide a framework for statutory and voluntary agencies to work together. This wider strategy is currently due for renewal.

There is a commitment from all relevant partner agencies to ensure that we continue to review and improve services for all victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence in Derbyshire.

The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 gave Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council the statutory duty to provide support in safe accommodation for victims of domestic abuse and to publish a strategy outlining how they will do this. The Derby and Derbyshire Domestic Abuse Support in Accommodation Strategy 2021 to 2024 is also attached to this page.
